Karla Vinter-Koch
Born in Paris in 1997, Karla Vinter Koch entered the world of photography at a young age. At 13, she enjoyed taking portraits, to establish relationships with people who let her enter their intimacy. These privileged moments fascinated her and gave her the desire to pursue photography.
The summer of her 15th birthday, she did a photography internship in New York where she discovered her creative universe. She continued her education and after graduating from high school, she began a political science program in Canada. Realizing that the world of images really interests her, she quickly returned to France to study the art of cinema at the Sorbonne. She then turned to photography, « my first love » and is currently a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieur Louis Lumière in Paris.
With a dreamlike, poetic and sometimes cinematographic signature, the artist offers us unique works of stunning beauty.
Guided by her attraction to femininity, she captures models by emphasizing their beauty. She wants them to reveal themselves, to let a part of their secret appear in their eyes.
« Art puts us face to face with ourselves, the artist must send us back a part of ourselves on which we can reflect, make us dream, make us doubt… I find that art can have a psycho analytical virtues if we agree to really commit ourselves ».
Through her photographs, the artist also evokes the question of memory.
« I do not seek to convey a particular message but a feeling, an impression, perhaps a little nostalgic ».
